SPI2 Bus Monitor

This is a must have for any embedded engineer (hardware and/or software) using any form of a Synchronous Serial Bus. These include:
- SPI
- I2C
- SPORT
- LINK
The SPI2 Bus Monitor interfaces to any standard IBM PC via its parallel port (ECP) and connects to your target system using a harness which includes MicroGrabber clips. A Windows based PC program is included.
Use it to capture data on the bus in raw (hex) format.
We've used it ourselves to debug multi-node networks in this fashion. Got a network node with a protocol speech impediment? Trap it on your PC!
The SPI2 Bus Monitor also is ideal for trapping and plotting data on your PC using the Oscilloscope Mode.
Looking for a spike in your digital A/D data? Set the oscilloscope to trigger on it!
SPI2 Bus Monitor
- Monitor/capture data at bus SCLK rates up to 13.824MHz (burst)!
- Connect to your target using the harness with MicroGrabber clips or design the DB-25 interface straight into your system.
- Use it with any standard IBM PC running Windows 95/98/NT 4.0. For fast bus rates, make sure you have a fast PC!
- Data rates of 800 KBytes per second.
The SPI2 Bus Monitor is a PC parallel port based system used to monitor activity on a SPI bus. Many applications can be done with the SPI2 Bus Monitor.
Troubleshooting Applications
The SPI2 Bus Monitor is especially useful for troubleshooting new SPI hardware applications. It can be configured for any type of SPI bus.
Monitoring Applications
Use the SPI2 Bus Monitor to monitor a SPI bus and trigger on any device on a bus. Using the OScope function you can view the data in real-time and determine if a device is functioning as expected.
Measurement Applications
Use the SPI2 Bus Monitor to record and monitor data from a SPI device to PROVE that the device is measuring correctly.
Custom Applications
Nilsen Consulting are experts in both digital hardware design as well as software development for any type of application. If the current hardware configuration doesn't quite match your application's needs, ask us about a custom design.
